I realise I'm spending too much time on TSR when I see the same threads pop up time and time again.

I should do some work.

I think they can, though you will usually get one person develop deeper feelings for the other. Having said that I've got male friends who to my knowledge have no burning desire to make a move and vice versa.
OP: Probably. Bit rare though. There's normally some feeling there.

Of course it's possible. Unfortunately, the ones who want to be friends are usually the ones you are most attracted to.
I dont wish to bone the majority of my female friends.

of course you can:s-smilie: i have loads of friends who are blokes
I've got the best male friend ever. He's gay and we have a ball. He winds me up and I tease him and everyone thinks we are going out (which is slightly annoying).
But I spose the only reason I can relax around him is because I know nothing would ever happen and that he'd never come on to me.
I think its much harder to be straight male/female friends...

It amazes me that people feel the need to ask that question. Of course men and women can just be friends...you can't seriously tell me that you fancy every member of the opposite sex that you talk to or are friends with? :s-smilie:

if he's straight, he'll probs fancy you, tho he also probly doesnt care enough to do anything about it. Depends how old you are. Past the age of raging hormones?

I suppose I was asking if its "inappripriate"(not right spelling) to ask someone of the opposite sex to go do something. If say they had a b/f or g/f?
There's nothing wrong with that at all.
Ask them to do what exactly?
yeah of course you can be friends.. so long as one or both start to be attracted.. then the friendship is dooooooomed
Almost all of my close friends are male, it's never really been an issue.
