Question! Can men and women be just friends?

Im just wondering if men and women can really be just friends.

I mean I met someone who was like totally cool in a friend kind of way, thing is ive thought that we could not really be friends as if I suggested to do anything (as friends) it would be seen as "some kind of move" would I be correct in thinking this?

What do you think about this?

I think they can, though you will usually get one person develop deeper feelings for the other. Having said that I've got male friends who to my knowledge have no burning desire to make a move and vice versa.

Of course it's possible. Unfortunately, the ones who want to be friends are usually the ones you are most attracted to.

I've got the best male friend ever. He's gay and we have a ball. He winds me up and I tease him and everyone thinks we are going out (which is slightly annoying).
But I spose the only reason I can relax around him is because I know nothing would ever happen and that he'd never come on to me.
I think its much harder to be straight male/female friends...

It amazes me that people feel the need to ask that question. Of course men and women can just be friends...you can't seriously tell me that you fancy every member of the opposite sex that you talk to or are friends with? :s-smilie:

I suppose I was asking if its "inappripriate"(not right spelling) to ask someone of the opposite sex to go do something. If say they had a b/f or g/f?
