Writing to inform/persuade/advise? (New English GCSE)

This is so late because the exam is tomorrow, but I have a question about the meaning of each of these. Could there possibly be any other purposes apart from the ones in the title? And what is the difference between persuading and advising - can we use persuasive techniques (statistics, rhetorical questions, emotive language) for advising? If not, what techniques can we use? Thank you so much if anyone answers :smile:
