panadol?

Is panadol effective to cure a hangover in the morning?

What other ways would you recommend?

Yeah it is.

I'd recommend making yourself drink a pint of water before you go to bed. When I do this I don't tend to get hangovers too badly

I always try and drink a pint of water before bed but invariably i fail.
My favourite hangover cure has to be a full english and if that fails hair of the dog, which was recommended by a doctor to me some years ago!

His theory was that you have got your body used to alcohol that to stop using it forces your body into withdrawl and so you suffer all the usual hangover crap.
I don't mean you should go and get pissed again but to use a small amount of alcohol to ease the withdrawls.

Anyway it works for me:biggrin:

Generic paracetamol is the same and is usually cheaper.

Yeah it'll help with a headache but if you want something for stomach and headache combined get something like alka seltzer..think thats what it's called. But yeah panadol's the strongest pain relief you can get over the counter.

A brisk walk helps me a lot, about 2 miles.

Depends how you mean. Firstly, nobody has done a reliable NNT study on OTC analgesia - so in effect we don't know which of them is 'strongest'. However, the evidence suggests that they are, by-and-large, equally efficacious. That said, different analgesics work better of different types of pain - ibuprofen for migraine and dental pain, paracetamol for sinus pain or tendonitis or aspirin for period pain.

I'm alright, I've got the good stuff, none of this over-the-counter malarkey.
