Maths, English Lit, Sciences and History tend to be the most popular given they're facilitating and not niche. Although saying that, there's 5 classes for sociology and a similar size for law too.

http://schoolsweek.co.uk/a-level-res...ational-data/V

(data for all a levels by entries and grades from 1994 to present----> http://www.bstubbs.co.uk/a-lev.htm

This has all the statistics for number of people who took each a level with grades achieved and also year by year comparison from 1994 to present. A quick skim shows maths to be the most popular (i may be wrong)

welsh language had less then 1000 entries last year.

Going purely on the results statistics on the AQA website, the most popular AQA A-level taken at A2 was Psychology A, with 39206 candidates. Again, going purely on AQA statistics, Science in Society was the least popular A level taken at A2, with just 20 candidates.

If you want to look into this further, just look up "AQA results statistics" which should lead you to an AQA page where you can see pdf files for GCSE and A level entry numbers since like 2010! It also tells you the cumulative grades achieved by candidates.

Hope this helps!!
