New Look shoes

Has anyone else bought New Look shoes before? What did you think of them? Were they worth what you paid?

I ask because a while ago, I bought some flats in the sales which cut up the backs of my feet so badly that they were bleeding loads. And I only wore them for half an hour!! :frown:

But I've just bought some boots from there, which don't feel like they're going to rub at all. But they were £45, and I'm wondering whether people think that's worth it? I know they were probably made for about £2, but they were the only pair of boots that I'd liked after about 2 weeks of searching in town for some nice ones!! They've been pretty comfy so far, so it bodes well for the future really! :p:

I do actually like new look shoes. I often buy them on a whim, when I have an outfit and no shoes to go with... only £20!

I had exactly the same experience. Bought a pair of flats to go on a York ghost walk a couple of years ago. Cost me £10, down from £20 ('cos I had a £10 voucher) so I was rather pleased. However, the bad stitching and uneven surface at the back of the shoe caused loads of friction and scraped loads of the skin off've my foot so that I was in total pain and a right mood for the rest of the night while I limped around. The shoes ruined my night! I harbour much hate for New Look.

I have a pair of brown boots (mock leather, chocolate brown - 25 quid) that are holding up very well (on Cambridge cobbles, which destroy even Liz Claibornes :bawling: )and very comfy. I have another pair of tan mary janes, which are holding up okay, but they were only 12.50. TBH, I love their shoes. You can get great pairs for around 15 quid...

Their pumps always look yuck imo. Go to Red Herring at Debenhams for cheap (tenner) pumps that look very good.

I love New Look shoes. Its the place to go when you need shoes for a particular outfit. Some of my shoes from there have lasted well and others fallen apart but it would depend on what you are doing whilst wearing them..

I've got a pair of nice gold flats from there and they seem decent quality. Can't really complain as they were only a fiver (last size they had!) :p:

I love New Look shoes. The price is usually roughly equal to the quality

you pay for what you get i think

I have two pairs of New Look boots and they're both okay. One pair I wear pretty much every day, the suede's come off a little and they sometimes hurt the balls of my feet quite a lot after walking for a while, but I like them.

Not always :p:

Topshop would spring to mind, rubbish quality, extortionate prices.

My main pair of flats are from New Look, and they are soft and comfy. Were a little stiff to start with, but not painful, and now I wear them all the time.

I also have three other pairs from there - some blue suede heeled boots (which hurt, but just because I don't wear heels much), some red canvas wedges (which are excellent if worn for less than three hours) and some black suede spiked heels (which are agony, but again, that is a heels thing, not something to do with the quality of shoe).

They're not bad for the price, particularly if you've found a pair of shoes in the sale. In Topshop you could pay about £50 for a pair of boots, but a similar pair in New Look may be £30-£40 even though there's no real difference in quality.
If you don't want your heels to be shredded by the pumps, then just buy some half-decent heel pads to stick in the shoe.

I love New Look Shoes. I agree that flats tend to rub, but once worn in are really comfy. They're excellent if you can't find a pair of shoes to match an outfit. You ALWAYS can in NL!!!

This thread is baddddd. I have a great urge to go shoe shopping at NL, now

I LOVE New Look shoes. My favourite pair of shoes in the world ever are from there. Kind of mary janes, black with a little heel, real leather, only £15! I wore my first pair out and bought some more! I'm considering going to buy a spare pair in case they stop making them  :suith:

The only reason I'd go into NL is because the shoes are nice. Although I wouldn't really buy pumps in there......I have done before and the sizes are mucked up (I'm between a 3 and a 3.5 but sometimes in NL I gotta buy a 4, then sometimes a 3 is too big)

I have a few pairs of New Look shoes. The ballet pumps always rub my feet so i have to wear several plasters until I have 'broken them in', then they're really comfy  I have a nice pair of boots from there as well that I've not had any problems with they haven't hurt me at all!

I have a pair of tan boots from new look, they only really lasted a year until they needed a trip to the cobblers, but they were pretty good and comfy. My friend has some patent black four inch heeels that have lasted many nights on the streets and clubs of plymouth and are still going strong.

I had the same problem. The flats I got from there were quite popular at the time, maybe you've saw them? They just had a strap across them with a little button and a ruched back by the ankle - they absolutely KILLED my feet! One of my friends had them too and also had the same problem. They weren't worth the money :frown:
