The H2O is on the reactants side and not in the products therefore the reactant is being hydrated. If the water molecule was on the products side then it would be dehydration

would i lose a mark if i forgot to put a minus sign in the energy change q. and molar enthalpy change q. ??

Yes, you would lose 1
The last question for the molar enthalpy change was -535. I am pretty sure!

Yes... That is what was written on the mark scheme
What do you think you need for an A*?
There was the ethanol question - benefits from both production methods
What was the chemical equation for incomplete combustion of methanol?

4d - dibromobutene - there were 2 bromine molecules attached to the bottom

Same pinch
looks like both of us are wrong 😐

If you did have to write the name of the molecule including bromine then it would be dibromobutane not dibromobutene but apparently it asked for it without bromine so idk

I made so many stupid mistakes.. :frown: bye a-star........ :'(
Made a dumb mistake while working out the moles in the second to last question.(such an idiot) The rest of the working out was correct but obviously, I got a different answer. Would I get a mark or 2 for that ?

55% b 65% a 75% a*
Q4 (e) Wouldn't colour of solution remain orange? There were no double bonds to break so bromine water should remain orange.

Q4 (d) 2,3 Di-bromobutane (though I didn't put the 2,3 bit in.)
