Mature student advise

Hi Everyone,
I have just been accepted into University as a mature student (28), i'll be studying part time history... does anyone have a tips or hints for me??

You could:

1. Get your finances sorted out.
2. Get your study resources sorted. Computer/ printer etc.
3. Ask for the reading list and look at the syllabus. Watching documentaries about the periods is an easy way to familiarise yourself with the periods.

You need to be able to manage your time, so stay on top of work.

1. How to think like a historian

These books seem like excellent reads.



The other things I would do are:

1. Learn the rules for referencing.
2. Learn the guidelines about what counts as plagiarism.

My dad did history at university and when he did I hardly ever saw him because he was up in his office all day working on his history degree. But it payed off because he got the best in his class. Prepare for a lot typing
