I think they should. We need a classic liberal party and true liberalism needs to come back.

Today's so-called 'liberals' are the antithesis of what being liberal really is.

I agree that we need true liberalism, as distinct from socialism and the modern SJW ideology. But the Liberal Party throughout the 19th and 20th has come to support also democracy and for basic welfare. Including the "democratic" makes sense as today's states are "liberal-democratic" not only "liberal" as in the 19th century. However, changing the name could also signify dropping the leftist (or "social-democratic" ) tone, which would be good.
