next year ill be studying theib, but i havent done gcse's even though i was in england. i was in an international school and we did the middle years programme, but no uni talks bout the entry requirements with that. the grades are the same as in the ib: 7,6,5,4,3,2,1. can anyone help? it's not that urgent..

Chances are universities will only quickly glance over MYP grades, as they are much more in the hands of the individual schools (no centrally marked exams, limited optional coursework, etc.). Unless you went to a well known international school (Vienna comes to mind) they are unlikely to put much weight on MYP results.

I agree. No university is really bothered about MYP grades, but they can still be helpful if you do well in them. You are at a great advantage going into the IB with an MYP rather than GCSE's because ít can be a large jump up in some subjects and the IB is an intensive course

Is it that futile? i heard that the Personnal project mattered a lot though. the thing is that with the MYP we cant choose our subjects and since I was really **** at art and creative subjects like drama, mostly coz i didnt give a ****,i had a 3 in art, drama, and a 5 in music (the 5 is okay i guess..9 but do u think top unis will dislike the fact that i have such poor grades at those subjects and think im not focused enough, i had good grades at the other subjetcs...

I did the MYP as well, and it's something I've been worried about too. I think as long as you enclose a kind of explanation of how the MYP system works, you should be ok. I did very well, but I doubt they'll really care, as they won't have as comprehensive an understanding of it as with GCSE's. Plus, I'm convinced the MYP subjects are harder

This depends almost entirely from school to school, which is why it is so hard for universities to rely on MYP grades.
