Have you ever been to a council estate? Also why do you hate successful people so much? What have they done to you - other than give either you or your parents jobs (and if your parents are self employed - gave them contracts to work for them)

I don't hate all successful people. I only hate those who, despite their vast amounts of wealth, are utterly disconnected from less affluent people and do nothing to support them.

We're not talking about homes, we're talking about property. They're not one and the same. These are indeed potential-homes but instead built-and-bought in order to line pockets; as it stands they're bricks on land owned as an /investment/.

why do you resent people owning things? Whats your problem? People own things because we live in a free country - would you rather live in a country where everyone had to live in towers like grenfell (like in soviet russia)

Clearly decided to ignore my comment about social housing? How about you lot stop blaming **** like this on the rich and accept it is down to inadequate provision of social accommodation by the government.

Besides I'm quite certain they're not on the streets...right now the government is probably paying for their emergency accommodation. I don't see why the rich should have to give up their homes.

The thing about compassion love is that it doesn't work when you're forced into it.
Oh wow.

The Tory MPs who voted against a Parliamentary bill that would have made it compulsory to introduce sprinkler systems (which would have helped to save lives) in a tower block this were. Ladies and gents, drum roll. Private landlords.

Also when you have people on Cabinet ministerial salaries, own property and in line to getting a multi million inheritance like Osborne and Cameron. The rich/wealthy and government are blurred lines.

But nice try. This disaster is man-made and was a result of socio-economic inequality. The (wealthy) people who decided this cladding (which is banned in the USA) decided to use it because it was cheaper.

So why don't you GET OFF YOUR HORSE (pun intended) and realise inequality and mistreatment of those on the lower end of the socio-economic status of the UK is still a thing and it damages lives, if not KILLS THEM. I don't give a damn about rich/wealthy people who are not responsible for this. But I will not lie to myself, like you appear to be doing, that wealth inequality was not a reason for this. It was. If wealthy landlords, MPs and so on were made to live in such housing conditions they would not be housed in a tower block that was a fire death tramp. You don't have that right not to be offended when people bring up wealth inequality. But you know what is a right?

A RIGHT TO LIFE ENSHRINED IN UK LAW*

So excuse me but will I continue to be angry until people start caring about more than just themselves.

I apologise for my confusion in terminology, but my point still stands. The state shouldn't be able to just seize away your property.

can you actually read and process what people say before crying "UR A COMMUNIST"?

*rolls eyes* have you? I have. The people that lived there were warmer, kinder and more generally humane than the middling-rich hip kids I've lived with in or many of the elite types I've socialised with. At house parties etc the rich kids tend to cause more damage than the poor kids, funnily enough.

He won't mention how his own parties' policies of mass immigration have lead to this though

Your trying to catch me out as a hypocrite. But you wont because I agree with you. Im not a conservative party spokesperson - i think they have done a terrible job with immigration.

There's nothing wrong with living in a tower-block. The failing was in the fire safety/type of cladding used etc, you know that right?

I have an issue with the misuse of housing in London. That's not an uncommon view these days. Those homes shouldn't be sitting empty in the first place.

Not entirely sure how any of that visual imagery supports the idea that they're going to trash someones house.
Corbyn is an authoritarian in waiting.

I support an investigation and corporate manslaughter charges BUT what do you propose. People (landlords) broke the law and they will be punished. The reason people live in scummy tower blocks is because they dont work and cant afford a house - their fault not mine.

THEY DO! THROUGH CAPITALISM. The rich buy stuff to make their life's nicer and in return people get employed to make/maintain/serve that stuff.

Council housing is allocated first to people in work, then to people out of work afterwards. I can dig up that guideline if required.

I live 15 mins away from this area and grew up in council housing. My extended family grew up in blocks similar to this. You call yourself a Conservative? you would make Benjamin Disraeli puke. Most people in council housing are working, most are working 40 hours a week. My parents sacrificed their happiness to afford to move out and buy their own place and for you to make such a comment.

I'm done. You're just hate.
