Are you actually joking about the fire that literally killed many people and destroyed livelihoods of many more, whats wrong with you?

no. bye.
I reckon that the best course of action now would be communication. Failing to talk to people is often a good way to make them angrier.

In this case, that's difficult because there's an ongoing investigation and that can limit what officials are able to state publicly. I think that they do need to make some sort of dialogue with the residents possible, though, even if it's just the PM bothering to talk to them, or they'll feel forgotten and get more frustrated.

Ignoring people, or seeming to ignore people, will lead to problems and disconnections between the council and the community. I think that it's similar to what happened in Tottenham right before the riots, when the local police (who probably weren't directly involved in the shooting) didn't know how to engage with Mark Duggan's family. People get angry when they feel ignored, especially when it's the people who they see as the guilty party who are ignoring them.

I'm glad that Sadiq Khan, the Queen and Jeremy Corbyn all visited to talk to locals (even if that sounds like the start of a bad joke). I expect that they helped. The involvement of the police in shielding firefighters from falling debris might also help if violence does start looking likely; the police aren't the enemy in this case, so they're in a better position to intervene and try to defuse potentially heated situations.

I hope that this inquiry is fast and effective, and can find out exactly where the failings that led to this disaster were.

I'm not talking about the families. I said they have every right. I was talking about others, waving their Socialist Worker banners, etc. Just on Sky News right now, behind Ashish Joshi who was speaking, a hooded young man walking among the crowd. People want answers and immediate action, but it doesn't mean every protester ought to jump on the bandwagon for their own political agenda. It just doesn't seem morally right.

I agree with that but onlookers would be enraged as well and deeply saddened
Look at this, people watched others die, helpless

This upsets me and would spur me into action and i dont know anyone living in the tower

I don't think he was joking. Angry protesters and hot weather (which is forecast this weekend) often lead to public order problems. I'm worried that this could escalate.

Definitely agree with this.

I completely understand the actions of the individuals if I don't completely condone all of them.

But I hate the SWP, regressive debate stifling scum.

More like the 900s.

And there it is, right on schedule
I'd be storming in there too if my house got burnt down because some tory **** didn't want to bother making it safe.

Oh like you care about trouble
The working class locals are mostly fed up of being ignored by the local council, the rich taking priority and being constantly priced out of the area.

This was obviously the tipping point

I agree someone does, but whoever that is needs to be found out through investigations. Kicking off and rioting does the community there no favours.

Understanding why they are doing it is not justifying their actions
