The section doesn't mention anything about SAQ so I assume they wont require you to send the same info twice.... I mean quite obviously, I have filled in the COAF thinking I was international... since I am chinese in nationality but they told me I didn't need to send it. Nevertheless the COAF contains much the same info as the SAQ only more internationally adapted hence I don't see the point of the SAQ and the COAF.

Also international students have to make the 45 pound administrative fees pay which we don't have to.

Heh, I've been told by the college that they require the COAF as well as the SAQ.

There's also an amin fee in England too, although it isn't that high.

"There is also no longer an application fee for British or EU students"

Taken from the Queens College website

My referee hasn't even looked at my application or started my reference according to UCAS...and I sent my application to him 2 weeks ago.

yeah but the other unis you apply to wont see all the extra info. You dont want to be putting all your eggs in the cambridge basket, incase they decide to fry you up and eat you for breakfast instead of letting you become a chicken

I need some help with the Qualifications section, please!
I'm filling in an A level I have (in French, board is WJEC) but I'm a bit confused as to how the details work. I'm doing the IB at college and I got my A level before I began the IB so...not really understanding the unit title section.
I've got codes for the units - they're just FR1 through to 6, but nowhere on my statement of results does it give me a title for anything. Is this something I need to call my old school and check with or...? :s

Second question is about the Additional Information bit. (Applying for Japanese at Selwyn if relevant, though prob not...)
I'm confused by the extra reading outside your A levels/equivalent question. Surely this is the kind of thing they recommend putting in your personal statement? I have put that kind of detail in my PS, so what do they expect from that section?
Also, could someone tell me what sort of thing they expect from the additional personal statement and the "anything else you'd like to tell us" question?

Thanks

There isn't even enough space to put unit titles in! What are we meant to do? I can't just write 'The Romanisation of Britain AD 43-' or 'Intro. to the study of Liter'. Grrrr. I know it seems a silly thing to complain about but they could have a least given us a tiny bit more room. Also, how are we meant to summarise the topics of our AS courses in just one line? Gah! And I mean that smiley!

haha I was in the exact same situation!! Sent it to the school 3 weeks ago, ran around the whole time chasing bits of reference from different teachers and still our head refused to be bothered to do it  Finally got it sent off on sunday!! Very annoying though as the head boy and girl sent there's in one day and got it sent off to UCAS withtin a day

and ditto with the ridiculous amounts of space!! I've had to condense everything so much :s-smilie:

Bit of light relief for everyone - there's a bit on the form which says "the photo is not part of the selection process" lol

Wonder what would happen if it were part of the application process

Lmao I know  haha we were laughing about that... "nope you're too ugly to go to Cambirdge"
I don't understand how that's going to protect against people cheating at interviews though! Surely you could put on a picture of the person you want to impersonate you if you're that desperate!

I had the same problem as I am doing the French Bac OIB and did not know what to put in. So I called and was told to leave section empty. Apparently they will send ANOTHER form for IB, French Bac etc (ie anything other than A levels or Scottish highers) after we submit SAQ! In the personal statement I just put why I think the course structure at Cambridge fits with my objectives.

So what's the best thing to do here? I think I Will explain briefly why I am so attracted to Cambridge. It seems like you are meant to write something in there...it's not like "if you would like to add an additional personal statement", it just goes ahead and says "write it in here"...

Thank you so much for your help. Have to say, I'm depressed that we have yet ANOTHER form...shame on me for thinking it was all finished at the personal statement etc on the original UCAS form :frown:
Thanks also for the help about the extra PS. Sounds very sensible, which is something I am clearly not :yep:

I've got a few questions:

In the section where you put down your subjects and their exam board, you're supposed to put down Mathematics and Further Mathematics as one subject. The problem is, I'm doing Mathematics and Further Mathematics with different exam boards, what should I do? :P

In the 'Additional Information' section, with the "How have you kept up your interest in the subject for which you have applied, outside your AS/A Level (or equivalent) work? (Answer max. 300 characters including spaces)", I've written that in my personal statement. I take it i'm not going to repeat it, so this box will be pretty barren, I take it that's bad?

Sections such as 'Is there anything else you would like us to know? (Answer max. 600 characters including spaces), Additional Personal Statement (Answer max. 1200 characters including spaces)', is it alright to leave it blank? There is not much about to talk about, "Looking forward to learning and appreciating the multiple paradigm languages, a good grounding in algorithms and how higher level languages interact with the OS" :\

I remember my question now.

I am not sure whether i would accept a deferred offer, it would be one of those spur of the moment decisions. If i have put 'yes' in answer to that question, will it in any way affect my chances of getting in in 2009?
