Be interesting and funny. Make everyone you meet walk off smiling and a little bit happier than before they bumped into you.

Trying too hard to be popular will often have the oposite effect. The most popular people I know are very laid back and don't seem to care whether people like them or not.

Reply 3

I don't think that you can make yourself become popular. Just be friendly to everyone I guess.

Although being perceived as popular does not mean that you are surrounded by proper friends. It might not be as fun as you imagine.

Be nice and generally pleasant. Ask them what they did at the weekend, compliment them on clothes etc. etc. but only if you really mean it! Fake niceness is pretty sickening and can be mistaken for clinginess/ desperation which you don't want.

For a man: Be a gentleman to the ladies and a man who's there for everyone to the men. (or vice versa on your gender)

I used to want to be popular and it depressed me for a while but then I stopped caring and people like me more now. :p:
Just relax around people and don't try too hard; be kind and funny and just generally laid back.

Being popualr isn't all what it seems. You have to constantly live up to everyone expectations. And in the end you'll become depressed as your not being yourself just what everyone else wants you to be.

Saying that just be a alround nice person, who is willing to help people (not always so that you do everything demanded of you) and makes peopel around you feel good (while feeling good yourself).

Be Yourself?

Reply 9

Be yourself, dont try and be what you think people want you to be.

Reply 10

be easy, simple as =P only jking.

seeking popularity = insecurites = changing yourself

Not saying the OP necessarily is though! I'd rather be vaguely respected for not trying to fit in. I can be myself around my friends, not feeling I have to fit in; it's great.

I hate when people try to be popular...
popularity is often all style and no substance.

Well, if your school's anything like mine, you become popular by:

1) making fun of the girl (me) who has a bit of a bizarre crush and getting everyone to join in.

2) dressing sluttily.

3) buying your friends.

Cynical? Me?

Yup. And have suffered a day in school where the said three points have all been painfully evident.

Sigh.
