Do Unis actually care about GCSE results or is it just A levels ???

Depends on which. Prestigious ones definitely care.

Don't worry about it. The number of uni courses that care about GCSEs is so small that once you've started your A-levels, GCSEs are completely irrelevant as long as they're not Ds or something. The only courses that sometimes need them are things like psychology where they want you to have Bs in maths and sciences etc but even then, a good grade/prediction in A-level psychology is more important.

Ah, I can remember the times when I worried about my GCSE results. Honestly, unless you want to go to OXbridge, no Uni will care just as long as you then get the required A level results. Just as long as you get Cs or higher in just about every subject you do, you'll be fine. Of course, worry about Maths and English because they are the most important GCSEs.

GCSEs only matter if you're going to leave prior to A Levels and your job of choice has certain entry requirements. It's good to have at least a C in Maths and English but other than that they are almost completely and utterly irrelevant. I don't even mention them on my CV anymore.

They care a little (having 5+ A*-Cs including English and Maths is almost certainly a must-have), but unless you're looking at Oxbridge, getting Cs in the subjects that aren't as relevant to the path of study you're looking at is fine. AS and A2 results are the main requirement.
