I am a student studying biomedical at University of Surrey. I don't particular enjoy it... its not the content that I don't enjoy but the fact I feel its just not going to get me anywhere and not where I want to be.
I achieved AAA (bio, them, maths) at A level and have a lot of work experience under my arm so probably could have gotten into medicine but I didn't even apply for medicine courses as didn't think I would ever achieve AAA. I also achieved 5A*, 5A at GCSE.
I want to study medicine so much, I don't want to waste the time and the money at another uni doing some course that I don't enjoy

    What shall I do?

    Hey 32908,

Just wondering if you've spoken to a careers adviser? We've got 5 careers advisers on campus, each of whom specialise in a different area/faculty. They'll be able to help you look at all your options and tell you about the different ways you could get into medicine, whether that's completing your current degree and then going on to apply for medicine or withdrawing from your degree and applying to medicine now. To set up an appointment with an adviser, you can call +44 (0)1483 68 9001 or email [email protected].

    Hope this helps!

    All the best,
    Ashley

    Hi there!

Sorry to hear that you're not enjoying your degree.

Have you considered Graduate Entry Medicine? After completing your Biomedical Sciences degree, you could then apply for a graduate programme - you can find out which schools offer these courses on our Graduate Entry Medicine page.

    Hope this helps!
