Starting my internship next week (at a bank, so office wear) - and when buying suits I bought a dark grey one which had a waistcoat that came free with it.

I know 3-piece are usually for things such as prom, weddings etc but I've had mixed answers on this some saying its fine some saying not.

Should I wear it or stick with just the jacket?

Better to overdress than under dress, but a three piece suit sounds perfectly fine.
Just one thing to consider, the weather.

Usually just the jacket would do, especially in this weather.

If this were the US, I'd agree with the above.

However, in the UK, go mad. A three piece if worn well will only get positive feedback here. The one place I'd avoid them is at interview.
