I want to start off by thanking you for taking the time to read this. I'm in a really bad postion right now, i know im gonna do really badly in my A levels to a point where clearing will not be an option. I plan on taking gap year and retaking all my tests, i hope to do very well. My question is that if i apply during a gap year with high predicited grades and a strong personal statement will top unis for ecnomics still consider my application despite my poor A level grades and the fact that im retaking. And if i get rejected and apply through clearing on the day and get grades that exceed the requirements will i have a strong chance of getting accepted? Sorry for the poor grammar im really anxious right now and scared.

I made a post similar to this but i wasn't very clear. I honestly want to revise hard over the summer but i really dont want it to be in vain

I don't know but I am also taking a gap year this year to find out what I want to do. If I get bad grades I will be retaking some tests as well and may go uni next year. I think they can only take into account your previous grades, but tell them you are retaking in order to get better, and they may be more lenient and may even offer you the place if you get the right grades. (Conditional Offer).
