My ex is sick.
I just found out this evening that my ex has cancer. I feel awful cos we agreed to be friends and i may have neglected him a bit over the last two years although i've been in Plymouth and he's been in Oxford and we still see each other in the holidays. He's only 22 and i can't bear to think about how his family must be feeling. I just don't know how to cope with this, i want to support him but i never know what to say to people in that position and i don't now whether i should treat him any differently now he is ill.

the fact he has cancer should'nt play any part in how you treat him really.

Well you should look after him the same as any other friend, but don't blame yourself for his illness.

That is a real shame! It's really heart breaking to see people in that position. Just be normal to him. The last think he wants is probably pity.
