Footballers don't deserve the amount of money they get, but hey who cares

Footballers used to get paid not a lot. But ticket prices and TV money meant that football clubs made a lot of money. So the wage offers from other clubs to get those players to switch clubs were able to increase. So the amount of money they were offered by their current club increased to keep them there.

Simple. The clubs can afford to pay them that much because people pay money to watch the football match. If they weren't paid that much, that money would just be sitting on the pockets of the billionaires that own the football clubs.

So stop complaining :smile:
