laryngitis

I've seriously lost my voice. I may well have had a virus recently, 5 days ago my stomach was off, the morning after i fainted, due to low BP and was then sick twice, really emptying myself in the process, spent a few days in bed and i woke up on Sunday morning to find that my voice has almost gone. I don't need to go to a doctor to inform me of laryngitis, it will be wasting his/her time, but is there anything i can do besides what i'm currently doing, i.e. drinking lots of water, taking some metabone, resting my voice alot, taking paracetamol and taking some strepsils...

lastly, how long does it take for laryngitis, on average, to clear up?
(i'm getting VERY pissed off with this ongoing series of events).
