Yup, it's always better to get up really early and then your body will be forced to sleep due to tiredness. Failing that, don't sleep at all for a night.

This is so easy to get out of. Last weekend I would sleep at 7am and wake up at 2pm and go out and all that. I'd stay up ridiculous hours. Last night, I went to bed at 12, even though I wasn't even tired and set the alarm for 7am. This morning I was completely shattered. It's a good thing, it means that if I can hold out till 10 or 11, I'll have a proper night's sleep. It's really easy to slip back into a normal sleeping pattern, you just need to force yourself to get up even if you're tired.

Get a new alarm if you find you can't hear your old one. I used my phone and realised that I'd turn it off, go back to bed and wake up hours later remembering that I'd switched it off and gone back to sleep. So either I'd put my phone far away from me so that the walk to my phone would wake me up or I got an alarm clock that rings like a mofo.

You really do get worked up over some petty things, I think you'd be better taking something to chill out rather than sleeping pills.

See, this never works for me. I'll get up shattered, desperate to sleep in the afternoon, force myself to stay up thinking I'll be tired at 10/11pm. When that time comes though, I still can't sleep. Just end up feeling worse the next day.

It's ok to sleep in the afternoon, I finished lectures at 1 so I crawled into bed at 2pm and set the alarm for 4:30. If I wake up after 6, I can't sleep at night so I've gotta make sure I don't sleep for too long.

no... :p: ...i'm guessing you didn't go to bed at a reasonable time though... being that you're posting on here.... go through your mp3 player.... make a chillout/ sleep playlist.... anything mellow and nice.... and turn it down..... so you can hear it but when you close your eyes it won't keep you awake. Slowly relax to it and fall asleep. Works for me when i'm wired at stupid o'clock.

Think you need to calm down love and try going back to bed at a reasonable time, being on TSR at this time of night is not going to help you.

Today I had a lecture at 10, and I woke up at 8.30 ready for a showe...rested my head back on the pillow having turned alarm off...woke up at 12.15 rofl.

Yet I'm awake now because I CAN'T sleep until like 3.30! Just not tireeeed.

My sleeping pattern is terrible now I'm at uni. Since I go to bed at like 2-5 most nights and have a lot of 9 lectures I just have no routine at all.

Eh?
Anyway went to sleep about 4am, and up at 9.30am. Quick sleep on train, bed at 10pm.

I wouldn't use tablets to go to sleep, they will just make you feel drowsy and may not work. Also, you may become dependant on them if you continually use them.

Just try and get your natural body clock in order, i.e. stay awake for a whole day and go to bed the following night, so you will have stayed up for 24 hours etc .

Tablets are a great way when used responsibly. By responsibly I mean taking them short term half an hour before going to bed, and actually going to bed. If you take them and then stay up, of course they won't work. You use them for a short time, until you get into a better routine.

Have you ever taken them? If not, I'd be interested to hear where you get the bad opinion of them.
