Immigration should be brought down to 10,000 per year

And these immigrants should only be of a skilled profession, such as a doctor or engineer. They should also have a job waiting for them here when they come. Then, they should only be granted citizenship after working full time for at least 5 years.

that is still really..really high.

What about students who have their families pay 4 times the tuition fee that Home students pay without any access to loans?

We don't need them. Most will get a degree then end up living back with their family / relying on the government, just like what happens to most British students.

Who cares? They decided to, and uni here is not cheap for anyone, and they normally brag about it back in their home country like "Ohhh I went to a university in London."

Because overpopulation brings one thing and that's poverty.

Students, foreign students aren't allowed to rely on the government because it's specifically says on their Visa's that they don't have access to public funds.

Try doing some research before you talk. And the country does need them, they make Billions from them

No, it shouldn't. All of you who try and put arbitrary (and quite frankly worrying) targets on immigration are deluding yourselves, because you aren't aware of how economically beneficial immigration is to our economy - the reason the conservatives have not and will not reduce immigration to their target is because even they know how economically advantageous it is (it's nothing to do with not having control, the EU has allowed member states the ability to control its immigration since 2004...). The problems with immigration are purely social ones which can be overcome with better integration.

All you ranting it should be 10,000, 1,000, 100,000 are so ****ing stupid and aren't aware of how badly you'd damage the economy, just because you don't like seeing a few more black people in your towns.

Population density (per square mile):
Manila: 107,562
Pateros: 79,114
Mumbai: 73,837
Dhaka: 73,583

London: 3,900.

Overpopulation is not an issue here. Have some empathy and compassion.

What a horrible comeback. It's in black and white and English. Do you speak English...?

Who cares if they spent so much money on university, they decided to.

And they brag about the fact they went to a British university in their home country anyway, because they know it's expensive and not everyone there can afford it...They like spending so much money in Europe. So I don't know why you brought it up how much they spend, particularly on university, which is expensive for everyone.

No. We are not the world's council house. If you want an economy to grow then you need SKILLED, controlled immigration, not mass unskilled immigration which is what has been happening.

The post you're quoting says right there I suggest an amount, an amount more than 0. So I never said stop immigration or "who needs it?"
Looks like this thread is full of xenophobes and racists.. yikes.

This. I understand why you'd want to limit immigration, but putting a number on it is merely setting yourself up for disappointment.

To be frank, most people complaining about immigration due to 'muh jobs' are the same people who think they're too high and mighty to work, for example, a cleaning job

It looks like you've completely missed my point. And yes I do speak English you chav. I'm from Canada and I speak 3 languages English, French and Italian.

What I pointed out was that without foreign students paying top dollars in the UK for their education, your economy will miss out on Billions of pounds, which they use to probably fund the council flat you're living in and the socialised medicare your girlfriend goes to every other night to check if she's caught another STD.
