If I get predicted BCC, then do I have any chance of getting into a BBB?

Well for AS's I got CCCDDD. I'm retaking the three subjects which I'm still doing this year, so technically I could get 3 As, although i somehow doubt it, more likely Bs. But yeah after chatting to teachers it seems i'll get predicted BCC or something close. However I really want to get into BBB unis.
Will they still give me an offer if they like my application? Or will i just have to go to a really bad uni?

Universities that ask for BCC are necessarily bad unis, and you generalise with that term waay too much. Anyway, you could try haggling with your teachers, unless you've already tried that, to get your predicted grade up. Especially because you are resitting them, technically anything is possible. If this isn't possible, then it could be worth applying to 1, maybe even 2 that are asking for BBB, and as long as you have a decent personal statement and reference then it could be a possibility.

I have the kinda same problem, I am taking four A levels, and acheived BBCD at As, for A2 I am predicted BBCC, would BBB universities take me into consideration, bearing in mind I am doing retakes and will probably improve my overall grades anyway?

I think you have a chance of being accepted into a BBB Uni, although I wouldnt count on it too much, you never can tell what decisions will be.

As long as you keep your options open by applying to a few BCC Unis as well, you should definately get in somewhere.

As Spudder said, just because a Uni accepts BBC doesn't mean its bad. You could still come out with an excellent degree and have great fun there as well. Some of the less academic places have the best nightlife!

You should have a variation of offers for your UCAS application, you should have, at the most, 2 uni's that are above your predicted grades.... they may make you an offer (Holloway made me an offer, I think this had a lot to do with my reference, my declared AS grades and the fact I was retaking the subject I got a C in.... obviously your personal statement too... it doesn't just come down to what AS grades you got. They did not however, make any special consideration when it came to entry requirements! Don't expect miracles but don't sell yourself short! If you feel that you can get BBB then go for it and put a BBB uni down as your first choice... and make sure you are prepared to attend your insurance choice, just incase!

yeah they'd better do!
i'm just really worried that a uni with requirements like BBC wont be valued by employers - so when they look at my CV will they just overlook it because i'm not at a great uni? i hope the answer is no:rolleyes: and yeah i dont mean that those unis are bad, just maybe not as well respected as good ones which is why im worried

To be honest, most employers look at the top 30 Universitys in pretty much the same way (unless your talking Oxbridge).
As long as you get a good degree I doubt your future would be greatly affected.

Say you did get into the "lower" universities, but were rejected for the higher one, and you did end up with BBB or higher anyway, it could be an option to take a year out and re-apply the year after to a better uni. You may not want to do that, it's just another option.
