Accommodation Options

Hi!
I will move to Huddersfield Uni in September to start my PhD. I would like to know your opinion about the accommodation options and what is the best for a postgraduation student.
I prefer to stay close to the University and City center, so if you can give me an idea what are the best/worst areas to live and what do you think is the best option : staying in a student hall or let a room in a shared house.
Any advice or tips would be appreciated.
