In our Sixth Form taster session of English Literature today, we were told we need to purchase some specific copies of the text, due to the fact that the exams are open book and we would be provided with page references, in some cases.

I was wondering what versions of these books any current/past English Literature students bought.

• Dracula (Penguin Classics) Paperback – 9 Sep 2004
• The Little Stranger Paperback – 5 Jan 2010 by Sarah Waters
• ‘Othello’ – 7 April 2005 by William Shakespeare
• ‘A Streetcar Named Desire’ – 5 March 2009 by Tennessee Williams

For Dracula I found https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/...KL5A1OLE&psc=1

and for The Little Stranger I found https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/...KL5A1OLE&psc=1

Are these good copies? Can anyone tell me what copies are good for Othello and A Streetcar Named Desire?

Thank you! x

I just finished studying Othello, and I used this one:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/043...ywords=othello

It has modern day translations of certain words on the opposite page, which was useful, and summaries at the end of each Act

We used this edition of A Streetcar Named Desire: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Streetcar-D...ed+desire+book

I'm not sure if there are more useful editions, this one is a little basic, but it does have a nice bit at the back where Tennessee Williams interviews himself, which is useful if you have to write about context or want to include quotes from him in the exam!
