My body :(

Please don't de-anon this, I'd rather it were deleted if need be.

I've lost ~3 stones in weight and am now a very healthy BMI. However, I'm not happy with my body - not from the weight perspective, moreso from the exterior etc. I really let myself go when I was fat and now have cellulite etc and horrible faded stretch marks on my tummy etc (not the red ones, the pale, pale white ones). My tummy's all wobbly and I get terrified when I wear jeans that people will be disgusted at the sight of my skin. I hate the way I look naked for these reasons. Would anyone have useful advice? Thanks in advance.

To be honest, people notice less than you think. If you're thinking in terms of sex, Men notice almost nothing and a few flaws aren't likely to put them off.

None of us are perfect, we all have hang-ups. But, i'm sure you'd be able to say that if you liked somebody a lot that you'd not mind their flaws one bit.

Heya! Well done on losing the weight. It's often a problem if you lose a lot of weight that your skin doesn't deal with the change well... A change in the style of exercise (toning?) you do could go a way to correct this. However, I think loose skin is something you'll have to live with unless you really want to consider surgery.... personally.... I wouldn't consider that as an option, but i'm not you!

As for the stretch marks, I can relate. I have loads on my legs, bum, hips, boobs. They're not pleasant but there are loads of products about that help to fade them. I suffer from acne so i'm using bio oil at the moment. It's good for scars and stretch marks and for the smallest size bottle it's about £7. Don't be put put off by the size of the bottle when you buy it when you line it up with the price... it goes a really long way. You can find it anywhere from health shops to pharmacies. Your stretch marks will continue to fade and probably get less noticeable and more thin. There isn't much you can do to make them disappear altogether though, mores the pitty. Whilst I can't say that bio oil has had a huge impact on my skin so far, I can say that my skin feels better when I have used it and my stretch marks don't bother me so much anymore. I used to have a phobia of being seen naked but to be honest, my body hang ups have made me more confident and stronger. I'm not sure how it works, but I think you have to learn to accept that there are things that you can't change. I hope there comes a time when this doesn't upset you. Try to concentrate on what you can achieve and look what you have achieved! You've lost 3 stone. Thats a really big achievement.

I hope this doesn't sound so superficial, but what about a new wardrobe? Everyone has body hang ups and I definately know I have mine, but it is true most guys don't really care.

I have a quite a nice (mostly new) wardrobe. I'm working on getting nice makeup etc. You can't really tell when clothed that I have these issues. It's more when it all comes off, and I start feeling hideous.

As Timeslikethese said, people notice less than you think. People probably think you have a great figure/body
Try to concentrate on the positive; you've lost weight, you're healthy etc.

It probably doesn't make you feel much better that everyone feels like this. It's easy enough to say but it doesn't stop you feeling self conscious! Give the bio oil a go and I know that vitamin E cream is good for your skin. I'm not sure if you'll be able to regain the elasticity in it though!

Get some sexy undies... always makes me feel better, even though I also have stretch marks! You can get some strange camouflage make up... but I suppose if they're in areas that aren't usually on show, this would be a bit of a waste of money!

Thanks, I guess so. It's just I have so many aesthetic flaws, and this is just another one. I never get any attention anyway.

If you want me to list my aesthetic flaws on here.... in front of the entire TSR world I will... not trying to make you feel bad.... and I hate to tell you.... you're a perfectly normal, self conscious young lady!

Pilates is a fantastic workout for toning the core muscles (the muscles in your stomach, sides and back), as are stability balls which you can buy from good sports shops or over the internet.

Hardly anyone is completely happy with their body. Fact is you've lost a lot of weight and that's great. Stretch marks will fade with time. I hate my stretch marks, but as has been said, noone else will notice them.

I used to get really upset about my body but now I'm starting to come to terms with it a little more. Learn to love yourself. Look at yourself properly, not critically. Stand in front of a big mirror and decide which bits you like. Start focusing on the good and the bad won't matter as much.

You are probably being paranoid, people won't notice as much as you think they do. You could always use a firming body lotion if you're that bothered about, to tone the areas where you have lost weight from. Or you could use fake tan as that usually creates the illusion of having flawless skin. I'm sure it's not that bad though really. I hope this helps. Good Luck!

I have always looked after myself, but also have cellulite and stretch marks.

Mischa Barton also has cellulite (http://farm1.static.flickr.com/123/375421186_23e40ca26f_o.jpg)

Hope you feel better about yourself soon

Oo I was looking at the body firming stuff in boots today! Does anyone know a good brand?

As for fake tan - I'm asian so no :p:

First off, well done on losing weight! I know how hard it can be.

Secondly I'm almost 100% certain you're nowhere near as 'flawed' as you may think you are.

Thirdly, I'm afraid that body-firming creams won't work. At best they're over-priced placebos but you're unlikely to find one that will actually change your body

i've never been happy with my body. i used to do gymnastics and trampolining when i was younger, and now i've stopped (which, ok was a good few years ago) i've noticed how everythings just gone ew.
i have celulite on my legs, my boobs are huge, and i'm getting a tummy. i know things are getting worse because one of my work colleagues asked me if i was pregnant the other day, and now everyone keeps asking me when the baby is due :frown:

They deserve to be embarassed for saying that. You should say no and watch them squirm. Why are people so happy to go anhead and say stuff like that without checking to make sure? :s-smilie:
