Grenfell tower escape

Say if they had an escape like this one maybe they would have been ok. Or maybe they could build medium height block like you get in NYC

Except how many floors is that and how tall is Grenfell tower?
Maybe if they hadnt had the defective cladding then they wouldnt have had the problem in the first place.
On the night in question the outside is where the fire spread fastest.

doesn't matter how tall it is it would be fixed to the building also would be completely enclosed for safety. It would also be separated by about ten feet from the building to get away from any flames.

Do you realise how quickly the fire spread?

Do you realise that the main reason why the fire spread so quickly was the cladding?

Do you realise that, within minutes, the entire building was on fire and these "escape routes/ladders" would have been overwhelmed with fire too?

If anything, the building should have had more fire escape routes within the building.
The outside was on fire too , so if those stairs did exist they'd be unusable
**** all use when the fire is also on the outside of the building.

They would get so hot they would easily melt through your shoes, not to mention what the actual flames would do to you.

It is a escape route if any but the problem lies with the fact that the flames outside would more or less melt the skin and the metal frame would be pretty hot unless it was made from a good heat absorber like sodium.

(i've never really searched in to grenfell tower) i propose they could have used a elevator to escape?

Lifts automatically shut down and go to ground in the event of a fire to avoid people being trapped in a steel box surrounded by fire. It would be pretty easy for a lift motor to fail in a fire.

You learn something new everyday
It wouldn't help, given that the fire spread outside the building.

So, nothing like what they have in your photo then...
That wouldn't have worked and wouldn't be safe on such a high building in any case.

Lucky for the States, the cladding that Grenfell was encased in is banned there...

Towers too tall for that.
Even though the fire was on the outside it is the actual smoke that kills people.

It doesn't matter that the fire was on the outside the smoke is what kills people. Once the person is outside they are much safer than in an inferno.

Do you know what happens when a fire touches metal for a period of time? It gets hot.

Yeah that doesn't matter as I said the smoke is what kills people. The people would all be wearing shoes and running down the stairs not all of it would be hot.
Or they could have used this lmao but it isn't practical

Fire kills people

They may not be wearing shoes if they have just been in bed, even if they are metal can get hot enough to melt shoes

Just attach it your well maintained and checked eyebolt that everyone has above their window.
