Depression after waking up

Every morning after I've just woken up, my heart is really heavy and I feel very badly depressed for some reason! Every other time I'm very happy and not depressed at all so I don't know why this is happening. It's been going on for like 4 or five months now, since I finished college. What is the reason for this? It's a bit annoying. I used to have a crush on a teacher, and I don't see her anymore obviously (until Xmas) but I don't think it's that bad enough to make me feel like this. And I'm not really annoyed with anything else but it's still there. What can I do?

I would suggest going to the doctors, if you ever feel depressed

I was depressed for about a year, constantly and did nothing, however now i have been to the doctors and i'm on medication, and i'm now improving, however whatever you do, don't just leave it!!
Good luck!!

But I'm not depressed I'm happy almost all of the time, it's just when I wake up in the morning it's really really bad.

Well that is still depression isn't it, even if it isn't all the time

If you wish, don't go to the doctors; however it may become worse

You're perfectly normal. Everyone hates waking up in the morning, especially to go to college and work with ugly lectures.

Maybe you could go for a run in the morning, come back have a shower and a decent breakfast, makes you feel good in the mornings.

Sorry I haven't been very clear, I meant I feel depressed the instant I wake up, and while I'm lying in bed. But when I get back and brush my teeth or whatever it goes. But whenever I've just woken up my heart is just pounding and very very heavy. So not all morning, just in bed really for a bit.

And it's clearly not lectures or work, it happens all the time (every single day).

i think its fairly common that peopl are a bit down when they wake up, well i am anyway most days.

i've never believed there is a reason for this.

just get out of bed and limit this feeling to as short a time as possible.
