Redness and heat on face and neck

So only about 5 minutes ago, the left had side of my cheek, jaw, neck and ear went really hot, and it has gone red. The redness appears slighly blotchy. I've put a cold flannel on it, but its still really hot. I found it slightly itchy as well. I haven't a clue what it is. Only a few seconds before it appeared I took a sip of some white wine, but i've tasted this wine before and its never had this effect on me.

Does anyone know what it could be?? I'm quite worried

That is worrying.

What sort of redness? Is it like a rash?

Rashes in the absence of other symptoms are not, generally, worrying.

Could be allergy, could be something else, it should pass soon. If it doesn't, or you develop more symptoms, especially headache or nausea, you would probably be advised to see a GP or go to a WIC.

That sounds quite like histamine mediated rash.

2 of my friends get, as we call it, alci-flush after having drunk literally one or 2 alcoholic drinks.

it tends to go slightly when they stand outside to cool down a little... whether thats a coincidence or not i couldnt tell you!
