Hello, I recently sent a certified copy of my Italian National ID, but i have just received a letter stating that the person certifying the document is not in an acceptable position. I got my certified copy at the city demographic office, which is the only public office that issues certified copies in italy, and the person who certified the document was a civil servant authorised by the government to do so (I wrote "Government employee" on the checklist). On your form it clearly states that civil servants are authorised to certify copies of documents. What am I supposed to do? How come did you reject my copy?

In cases like this, it's usually best to call Student Finance England @ (+44) 0300 100 0607 so they can look into your case. If you're an EU student, the number is (+44) 0141 243 3570.

I just called (+44) 0141 243 3570 but unfortunately it says that the number doesn't exist. I'm gonna try to call again in a couple minutes

If dialling from outside the UK on a phone that isn't all that smart, leave out the first zero.

Dial +44 141 243 3570.

Hi marco.branco,

With the EU Certifier Checklist it is best to stick to the official title of the person signing the document, in this case Civil Servant rather than Government Employee.

Warm regards.
