girls, i really need some advise....

first, please keep this anon as i know some people on here and this is a very personal matter. i would rather it be deleted.

I am in a serious relationship and very much in love. I recently have been feeling under the weather and had an upset stomach and my stomach generally feeling strange.
i am on the pill cerazette and i no longer have periods. i havent had one for about 6months.
i am worried i maybe pregnant and am doing a test over the next few days.
however, due to me not having periods anymore, i dont know when my next one would be and it says on the test u have to do it a couple of days after your period has stopped. so when am i supposed to do it??
i really dont want to go the doctors less i know i am pregnant.

im not sure if anyone will be able to help, but any advise would be much appreciated.

thank you for reading

if you don't have periods at all with the pill just take the test, and go to the gp and get one done there aswell explaining your situation. with my pill i have a period every month of bleeding that lets me know i'm not pregnant. best advice is go to the gp asap. x

that's what i'm on... definitely go to the gp, but you can still take the at home one, just don't take the result for definite as your pill may affect the results. good luck x

the thing about taking the test after your missed period is just so people don't take it too early for it to detect pregnancy. you can go to the doctor and speak to them. you can get a test for free there as well. or you can buy one from a pharmacy/supermarket. if you still think you're pregnant, you might need to take another one in about 3 weeks to make sure you're not. if you haven't missed any pills/been ill recently, the chance of you being pregnant is very low. try not to worry.

can i just ask what you think they do at the gp that is so different to what you do at home?

i missed one about 3 weeks ago, i was about 8hours late taking it and it says on the leaflet inside the packet that i should still be safe, but with my stomach feeling strange (i dont know if its in my head, i might be slightly paranoid!) i cant help but wonder.

maybe im panicing over nothing, but iv just started uni and its playing on my mind how things will go if it turns out i am.

thanks

oh no nothing like that, i know they will do the same as i would do at home. but ive just moved to a new city and because i am unfamiliar with the gp's i would feel extremely uncomfortable in seeing the doctor about this until i am sure that i am pregnant (if i am)

do u know what i mean?

It's free at the doctors?

The pill does not affect the results

It's better to be safe and sorry and have one done at a GP then go on a one at home, even if i took one at home now and it said 100% not pregnant, i'd still go to check. In my opinion seems like a better idea, as if she is pregnant she can get advice on what to do next etc, better to have someone on hand rather than sat at your bathroom at home worrying about what to do.

but i just dont know when to take the test as i dont have periods anymore

yeah, all i meant was that your test is basically the same at the gp or home. there's no real reason to go to the gp unless you have questions or want to take it for free. if i were you, i'd take one now, and if it's negative and you're still in doubt a few weeks later, take another one. if you do have any questions make sure you just go into your gp and ask away.

it'll be fine. take one now, and again in a month, then make an appointment if you're still worried. obviously if the first one is positive, you need to see someone sooner rather than later.

exactly what my male friend said last night!

You should take the test now, and if its positive make an appointment, if negative, i agree with above, wait a couple weeks and take another one. Good luck

If i were you i would get a test done with your GP, they can give you advice on what-ever the outcome... also, it might flag up something else if you're not actually pregnant...

If you've lost a lot of weight recently your periods also change... could it be something to do with that??

Hi, not exactly the same situation but the last couple of weeks i was worried i was pregnant due to my period being 2 weeks late. I took 4 pregnancy tests, all negative.

I wouldnt worry too much, i worried far too much and i think this delayed my period too much. The 4th test i think confirmed my belief that i wasnt pregnant and 2 days later i got my period (yesterday) unexpected. I just stopped thinking about it, and it took me by suprise! I have just started Cerazette and it's quite normal for it to stop your periods. I dont think your upset stomach necessarily means you're pregnant. I have had a funny stomach for weeks, its generally anxiety i think.

If you're worried, take a test, but im sure you'll be fine. Its always best to double up and use condoms if you're worried as it will lessen your worry. I would see your doctor though, thats what they're there for. If you just sit and worry your stomach problem will only get worse and you will just get more worried and worried.

I was in this situation and it was awful, but now i know im not pregnant i feel silly for worrying so much. What will be will be. You'll be fine.

The test you'd get at the GP is exactly the same as the ones they sell for home use. It has the advantage of being free, but it's not more accurate than one on public sale.
