And generally fewer capitalised words in a passage of text is easier on the eye than regular capitalisation where it isn't strictly necessary.

Yes, one tends to forget that aspect. Capitals do make it harder to read. There was some grobian here a month or two ago who insisted on haviing capitals at the beginning of every word. It was totally unreadable.

As someone has mentioned before, just remember to capitalize the course names. :]

For example:

"I'm applying to read History"

However, do not capitalize when you're saying something like:

"I study 20th century history"

Difference is, the first example is the actual course name, while the second is just a regular noun that refers to the actual subject area but not a course title or something like that.

Do you get it? :]

What is there not to like about the germanic Idea of capitalising every Noun (and leaving Demonyms uncapitalised i might add)? Sometimes i wonder why we capitalise our first person singular Pronoun when they don't though.

Actually think i, that we all like one in German can talk should. :p:

What they said ^^^ lol.

because I'm doing English and French I used capitals all the time because they are languages... and when referring to the course title I would say 'English Literature' but when saying (for example) 'I enjoy studying literature' it would be lower case.

hope that helps.
