Is it possible to be rejected because you're "too good"?

Do you think it is possible to be rejected because the uni's predict you'll definitely be accepted at another, more demanding and more prestigious, university?

If you're application has been successful at a relatively easy university to get into, which has low requirements, is it the total end or do they just not want to bother with you if they're positive you'll be accepted at other unis?

I heard once about someone being rejected by all universities aside from Cambridge... :|

Nope, because they can't know which other universities you've applied to; so no university can predict that you'll choose a different place, and reject you on those grounds.

:ditto:
They wouldn't know which universities you had applied to, hence wouldn't know your offers.
Chances are, if you are overqualified for the course you would get lower grade requirements.

Maybe they just mucked up in the interviews for other unis?

True; they might assume that you were applying to better places though if, say, you applied to a CCC university with AAA grades/predictions. I don't think it'll be an issue though.. a few years ago I got into a university requiring something like a couple of E grades, with AAB predictions.

It has been known. If you submit your application before October 15th, and predicted AAA it is fairly likely you have applied to Oxbridge. If your insurance choice is CCC, the university concerned will know you do not intend to go there. While it is very very rare, it has been known to happen.
