Anyone do Marketing here?
I'm 23, did a degree at Uni with very small amounts of Marketing in it but that's about it.
I then did a 9 month Internship with a company in Marketing & Events. However this was a very large company.
My friend works at a retailer in a shopping centre. He is the store owner so did some Marketing himself but not a lot as he has many other tasks. I'm now working for him and doing all the Marketing. However I am fairly inexperienced, but the main problem is my Internship was at such a large company therefore I didn't actually do the marketing. Any sort of Marketing would go through many people with plenty of steps and procedures to get it done.
I'm finding it tricky at this smaller company with a very small budget and to do all Marketing myself. Eg, at the larger company we'd use graphic designers for any print media or advertising, we had expensive software with databases and campaigns (Salesforce & Pardot). We had specialists in Digital Marketing who had very fixed job roles and responsibilities. There was a process for everything & this would go through many people & external agencies.
So I'm looking for any general advice. Particular areas are:
- How to increase engagement (I've set up accounts with basically every social media platform - Youtube, Facebook, Twitter etc).
- How to convert this into sales (ultimately that's the main goal!!!)
- Ideas & Inspiration for Marketing - I can basically do whatever Marketing I want within budget so what would be best to generate sales.
- SEO Guidance
I'd be very grateful if anyone experienced in Marketing could PM me and I can tell you the name of the company, links to its social media, website etc. I don't want to give information away about the company on the wider public web!
