does my household income include my own?

Okay this may be a stupid question but I've taken a year off in order to earn money for uni. Im about to apply for my maintenance loan and it says it's based on my household income. My query is would this include my own income considering I am still working, or would it just be my parents? Adding on, if it does include mine, could it include my sister's as well considering she works (but is still currently in school).

This may be a stupid question but I want to make sure I do everything right.

The only income counted for the student applying is any UNEARNED income expected during the year of study. Previous work, part time work - doesn't count. Only if you've got a trust fund or a portfolio of rental properties would you have to declare your income.

Dependents income can count but not casual earnings for under 16 yr olds

Hi hereforthefood.

We wouldn't take into account your own income from employment, it would be your parents household income.

Warm regards.
