Got really...

... drunk almost 36 hours ago. I'd never drank this much in my entire life (was very upset about something and ended up drowning my sorrows.). I came home and threw up twice. Fell terrible most of yesterday (Sat) mainly in my head and general nausea. However, today, (Sun) I still feel sick, my tummy aches and I still feel nauseous.

I don't ever drink much. This was the first time I've ever been properly drunk. (I've been tipsy/semi-drunk on w other occasions.) Is it meant to feel this bad??

yes it is, i had an instance where i felt bad for 2 days as well. Its basically your body telling you never ever drink that much again if you want to avoid feeling like this again.

Yep, sounds pretty normal to me. I had an incident like that in May or June. Drank waaaaaaaaaaaay too much one night and I was ill in bed pretty much all the next day. Bit of a shock to the system given that I never even usually have a headache after drinking too much! Never again :p:

Is it normal to want to vomit 36 hours on though??

Yeah...friend of mine got REALLY drunk...passed out and she felt ill for five days afterwards, headaches, nausea, the lot. Just drink lots of water to rehydrate and stick to simple food like toast....it'll pass soon.

I drank quite a bit on friday as well, but don't feel as bad as you seem to do. Hope u feel better soon!

You'll be fine. It sounds fairly normal (although it's generally just the next day that's awful). If you're still feeling very ill this evening or tomorrow then it might be worth ringing a doc. But for now just sip water/tea frequently, stay in bed and if you can face it try to eat something.

Thats just normal, but horrible I know..its never worth the night before
Once after a 3 day booze up I was ill for a week..I'm such a lightweight

Yep, the first time you get really wasted like that 2 day hangovers do happen. Get some Lucozade, that's pretty good for hangovers. They sell it in hall and the buttery and also the Post Office on Trinity Street so you don't need to stagger very far.

In future drink a lot of water before you go to bed and stop drinking a few hours before you intend to leave somewhere, if you're sobering up when you go to sleep then you don't feel as **** in the morning. Also I heard that eggs were good for hangovers as they absorbed something or other... I dunno, but I read it somewhere. I also find sushi and cereal (not together!) work well.

It's pretty extreme for a hangover, but perfectly possible. Keep drinking water slowly, and eat a bit of plain food if you feel like it.

try some mints as well - they are good for settling stomachs.

Try some lemon and ginger tea if you can find any. Ginger is good for nausea and for settling your stomach. You can get it from most supermarkets and places like Holland and Barrett I think.

Hey there, I would suggest drinking something carbonated, as this tends to neutralise the acids in your stomach helping to relieve the nausea. My choice is lemonade, but my bf tends to favour fanta when he's feeling like that! Hope you feel better soon. Cxx

Ugh thanks! Jane Austen dance didn't leave me in a very lady-like state.

Thanks for the advice so far. I think I haven't had nearly enough water because everytime I do I feel like throwing up. I have a couple of boxes of juice can I guzzle those? (Or will the fact they're acidic make things worse??) My tummy was REALLY gassy last night.

God, never again. I'm having to ask for an essay extension. So not hardcore!

Noo not juice - too acidic for a delicate stomach. Some weak squash if you have some, or drink water that you've boiled and let cool down rather than cold water as its easier on the tummy

Drink LOADS of water and eat fresh fruit. Green peppers are particularly good. Wash your face in cold water every hour or so.

sounds normal hehe. Water water and more water!

Well done my friend, your first proper hangover!

Erm.. To cure it, have lots of things rich in vitamin C to help your liver, and drink a load of water.

This is why i don't drink

Happens to everyone once, unless you are stupid, or depressed, or if you don't drink. I tried fighting it, but if your body wants you to throw up, my advice is let it.
