KS1 Placement!

Hi

I am beginning a top up degree with qts in Primary Education in September. I have been given Accreditation of Prior Learning for the work I have done as a teaching assistant in KS2. Which means both my main 8-week placement and smaller 2 week placement will be in KS1 only.

Looking for advice from anyone who teaches or has trained in KS1. Namely, how do you develop what I often call 'the KS1 teacher voice'? How does behaviour management vary from KS2? Do you have any tips for keeping younger kids 'on task'?

I'm hoping that being a male, the children will be quite inquisitive as to my presence in the classroom and who knows I might love it and not want to go back to KS2 for NQT year.
