Being a big girl at uni

Hey I've recently visited Exeter uni and have an offer to start studying in September but I'm slightly concerned about what it's like to be a big girl there(or at uni in general). The vast majority of people I've seen there on open days are thin and beautiful and a couple of people at the open day did make comments about my size when I was there. I'm 350lbs which I know is quite big but I'm happy like this and I don't want advice on how to lose weight but rather whether I'll fit in ok at uni. Thanks !!

You'll be fine. University is about your academic merit, rather than your looks.
Don't let it bother you what they think, you're their to learn and if they are that harsh to judge you when it doesn't bother you then they aren't worth being around
Wherever you go your bound to get a dig or two but just don't take any notice
It does bother you, you wouldnt be asking otherwise.

Lose it. It'll be good for you too anyway. For both your health and confidence which you do lack.

No it doesn't. What is bothering her is the prejudices of others. That does not mean she is unhappy with herself
If you are happy and confident with yourself then you will be ok. There are some children at uni and there are adults.
Be yourself and you'll make friends with the right people
Usual advice applies, join clubs and societies of the things you enjoy and meet like minded people
You'll be fine, enjoy!

If you felt uncomfortable then perhaps this isn't the Uni for you and you may want to consider somewhere else that's got a more diverse student body ?

She is unhappy - she just wants to hear people to say "its okay to be fat, dont listen to anyone who says otherwise"

EDIT: The fact she has posted this several times, proves this.

Losing the weight would be better anyway dont you think? She says she's happy but how long will that be for, when she gets diabetes, heart disease etc..?

People are only prejudice normally, because to get that overweight, you obviously dont put much effort into caring about yourself.

Are you saying its okay to be severely overweight?
Sorry but fact is you're massively overweight. If you're really happy with your current condition well.. enjoy it while it lasts. Otherwise make a change for the better

You've picked the worst uni to go to then with all them hills. Banta.

At least she can lose some of the weight
I don't plan on ever going to uni, but what I do know is that the majority of overweight people (outside of uni and in my experience) get by in their group of friends by making fun of themselves for being overweight - this way they beat people to it so don't suffer as badly.

Don't do this, self-deprecation is never a good look.

I'm not going to tell you you're 'fine just the way you are', because you're not. Being ~350lbs is unhealthy as it is, and it won't be improved given all the drinking and poor eating habits you my take part in like many students before you have and will continue to for years to come.

I would definitely say lose the weight, especially if it's something that could potentially stop you fitting in - it may not, but that's a) unlikely and b) still something that bothers you. Not being overweight = better health, mood, confidence and less having to worry about fitting in.

Be that as it may, the ball's in your court.
Thats honestly very overweight. You say you're happy with it but you're clearly not if you've posted this so many times. If you're looking for validation then I'm not gonna give you any. You should really try to lose some weight.

If she's happy like it, it's her choice, yes it may have implications on her health but if she's happy so be it
If you're fine with it then great. Ignore the trash user I've quoted below that's fat shaming you. Bit ironic to be honest.
