What do you mean whether it's real? who even doubts that it is real? you can access it yourself you know. Get TOR, log in, voila.

I don't doubt that websites like that could and do exist, just that they would get found and shut down pretty quickly.

yes, for example here is a link which sells fake UK passports (i changed one letter so you don't get into any trouble, so pretty much the link doesn't work)

    http://tfqnd6mieccqyiit.onion/

of course if you paste that into chrome, or firefox it won't work, and it if it did it would be very easy for you to be tracked, GCHQ could put a tamper into the server and could find all of the nodes that connect to that specific server. Tor uses a proxy based system, which rotates every time you log on, eg; one minute you could be have a Saudi Arabian IP looking at firearms, next you could have a Canadian looking at cocaine. The worst enemy of Tor is the CIA funnily enough, and as others tell you, it wasn't created by them, it was created by the US Navy Research division. Tor then became open source, and it was heavily funded by the US Government, to protect the NSA and other surveillance teams.
Tor is probably the safest browser you can use, but it can also be the most dangerous browser you can use. If you click on the wrong link on Tor, it could be CP, Animal Cruelty or it could just be a guy eating a bowl of soup while someone pats him on the back

i'd suggest to watch this one in the morning, if you don't like disturbing content, but i'm pretty sure you'll click on it anyway, as curiosity kills the cat.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6VMRAGxjOoA

if you'd like to find out more about it, i'd highly suggest these videos

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wlP1JrfvUo0

    linus explaining it fast

(i was going to link takedownman, if you can find any of his videos they are extremely informative, but 6 hours ago he deleted his channel pretty much)

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mUP0tx7Ib2w

LEMMiNO that guy who does the top tens explains it well.

also, there is a web below the dark web i was told about some time, but i have forgotten the name of it. if anyone remembers it please tell me, i'm pretty interested in it.

If you can get into TOR, you can access those websites. Silkroad was 100% real, I know that first hand. Dunno about anything else.

I heard the guy in that first video was forced to eat soup of his wife and daughter's human remains. Is that true?

Curiosity indeed kills the cat. Thank you! You're great! Your post is informative and since I'm inexperienced with even proxy servers, probably best to start on videos and meeting up with people, so I can actually learn more.

pessim Think someone said it's called the Mariana's Web, apparently 'worse' than the dark web. A little research- some say it's a myth, others say a 'frightening reality'. Interesting to research nonetheless.

    It's super ****ed up.
Just don't go on the deep web especially as you seem to have no idea about it. I'm pretty ****ing good with computers and know enough to (probably) safetly browse the dark web but I'm not taking the risk,
Just use someone else's computer. That's what I did. (the public library's)

    It does exist
there was 'silk road' that was shut down by the FBI 4 years ago and there must be so many more marketplaces on the 'dark web' that they can't find/trace
AFAIK silk road got shut down + re-opened twice and is now on the 3rd version, not 100% sure of the current situation though. I know the previous owners of it got jailed but new guys set it back up again

Shows you've only read articles about the dark web and not been on it.

To use TOR you just have to download the browser, just like you would chrome or firefox.

Tails is an operating system which is meant to leave no traces on your computer, and routes all traffic through TOR. You download it the same why you'd download any linux based operating system.

It's real, but honestly there is (probably) no real reason for you to go there. It's slow and difficult to navigate through and, aside from the deviant and illegal content, is mostly just data dumps and documents. By all means have a look around, but it's pretty useless to the majority of folk, myself included.

There's more to the deep web, then CP or red rooms (which aren't an actual thing).
