I stupidly lent my provisional driving licence to a mate who's seventeen (two months off 18) and it was confiscated and taken to the police. I went to the police station to ask about it and they said I need to wait for them to send me a letter, but it's been two weeks and I've heard nothing. Anyone been in this situation before? Am I likely to get my licence back?

This thread should be in Cars and Motoring - tagging AngryJellyfish to get it moved.

First off, you're an idiot for lending your ID to your friend - it's fraud. Whilst I doubt anything will come of this, you'll likely get a stern talking to.

There is a possibility that your ID will just be destroyed - if you need it urgently, I'd advise applying for a new one. Fill out a D1 application for a replacement licence.
