Hi, I am a student taking Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Computer Science for A Level. Aspiring to do a degree in Computer Science or Aerospace Engineering at the University of Bristol.

Now I see a lot of other people taking Further Maths, however, I myself, chose not to do it, I still have time to do it if I wanted to, but I can only just endure Mathematics alone, additionally I fear the workload may be too overwhelming.

I enquire if other students have gotten into Russell Group institutions with just the A Level in Maths, as opposed to FM and Maths. I fear that by taking it, I restrict what could be an A*A*A to like an A*AAB (or A*AB). I feel that I could ace the regular A Level but fear I won't be considered due to my lack of selection, may someone impart some wisdom, it would be greatly appreciated.

Unless Further Mathematics is required or strongly desired for Computer Science for the Universities you're considering, it's unlikely your lack of the subject will matter. Check the entry requirements (and subject requirements) of each University you're considering.

Ah I see, on some of the Unis it does say 'Recommended', on top of the regular offer of just Maths, however even if i still do make these requirements, would a greater personal statement/work experience/etc, and maybe self study compensate?
