Call me naive, but I'm nonplussed with regard to just how expensive housing really is. I'm going into my second year at LSE and am looking for a place to share with three other people.

Is it quixotic of me to be searching for a place that will cost (at the most) £180 per week per person? Does anyone have some advice for finding affordable housing in London?

When I was at uni in London, the cheapest rent I got was about £500 per month. It's worth looking further out along useful tube lines, because it might be cheaper in zone six but still be close enough to get to uni (LSE's near Holborn, isn't it? So, either end of the Picadilly Line)?

Finding a flatshare/houseshare between 4 people should be really easy for that price in most of zone 2. East London will be easiest to find and maybe south too.
