Hi,

I will be studying law this fall at Royal Holloway and I wanted to get some more information of its reputation, things that are good to know, student satisfaction, etc!

Thanks!

I wouldnt rely on student rankings, but they can give a rough indication. I would have one with your offer from Manchester, but you seem not to like that idea. The unis are very different from each other.

Hey Babyelf13,

It's great to hear you're going to be coming to Royal Holloway in the Autumn!

Our Law courses (including Criminology courses) are accredited by the Law Society, and as a University of London institution, you leave your degree with a well regarded qualification. I think the greatest strength of the department comes from their industry links, and determination to make their students as experienced as possible. The department has links with local firms, they run a law specific career week, and run mooting competitions against other universities, which are judged by local law firms.

Outside of the course there are numerous societies which can support your studies, such as Law Soc, Amnesty International, and the Criminology Society. On top of that are all of the societies you can join to further your interests outside of your course, from Humans vs Zombies to Musical Theatre Society. There's no limit to how many societies you can get involved with, and they are a great way to meet new people and to try new things.

Studying just outside London has been really enjoyable for me. I was able to make full use of the industry opportunities that come with being so close to London, experience the city life and culture, whilst also having a safe and homely campus space. Between your studies, societies, seeing London and the amazing things we have around Egham, you're going to have plenty to keep you busy.

I hope that helped to give you a bit of an idea about our Law course, and living and studying at Royal Holloway, but if you have any more questions let me know!

Summer
