On Friday I booked the day off work to spend some quality time with my best friend Sophie. We've been best friends since we were 3 and we joke that we feel like we're in a long distance relationship as she lives in Bristol and I live in Brighton. We moochied down to the beach where we drank prosecco, ate food and were attacked by seagulls (one landed on my head and I can still feel it's gammy claw!) We then drank some more prosseco, went for Mexcian food and caught up on everything. It was lovely. :hugs:

Saturday I went to my friend Jocelyn's house and had cuddles with her baby who is called Solomon (officially the cutest baby ever). It was her birthday so we ate pizza, chatted with friends and of course drank prosseco (I'm starting to notice a trend here haha). I then came back to Brighton and went out for a boogey with discobish and my housemates until the early hours.:bootyshake:

Sunday I was feeling a little worse for wear, but dragged my butt out of bed to do all the boring stuff that you have to do when you're a grown up, like clean, pay bills and do my washing, but I rounded off the evening with Doritos and Love Island.

All in all an excellent weekend.

I booked tickets to go see Gilles Peterson on the beach in Brighton back in April and have been looking forward to it since then. The idea of boogeying with my mates, with a cider in my hand and the sun on my face has filled me with joy for the past few weeks, but oh no, mother nature had other ideas...
As I'm sure it was a similar situation with you guys, it absolutely chucked it down on Saturday and there were rumors that the gig would be cancelled. As the hours ticked on and we drank more gin, we plucked up the lady balls to wack on our rain mac and moochy on down to the beach and tbh it was so much fun! The rain cooled off and the sets were great. We then went back to discobish house and played pool on her giant pool table until the early hours.

On Sunday, feeling a little sorry for myself, I did some yoga, looked on Pintrest for room inspo and booked a spa weekend with my mum for September wooo!

Throughout this week I have also started working on my Bucket List a bit more. I ordered some fairy-lights for my room, glitter for my face and wrist bands for Pride and, although it's not an independent documentary, I went to see Dunkirk last night with my housemate (definitely a watch, Christopher Nolan is one of my favourite filmmakers)

Fox Corner has been staying at my place during the gap between moving out of her new place and moving into the new one. On Monday we both had the day off so went for a fancy pants brunch on Monday (I ordered the veggie breakfast with a side of black pudding lol) and watched a thing on Channel 4 about Jay-Z and Kanye West #TeamKayne. She's moving out today, so good riddance to ya.

My favourite serious TED talk is the one by Megan Phelps-Roger, about how she left the Westboro Baptist Church. She has some amazing things to say about debates and empathy, as well as just telling a really poignant story about her escape from what is essentially a cult.

... my favourite non-serious ones are anything by James Veitch - his "replying to spam" series, and his "unsubscribe" talk too. They just make me laugh so much.

Good luck with the rest of your bucket list!!!! I'm super jealous about you going to Pride omfg

Saturday was Brighton Pride, which is always one of my favourite days of the year and this year did not disappoint! I had approx. 20 of my friends down, as well as my housemates friends and work chums, so my house was pretty rammed to say the least. We covered ourselves in glitter, spread rainbow paint across our bodies and filled our open hearts with love. After watching the amazing parade, we hung out on the level, ran back to mine for shelter from the rain and headed back out to st James street once it the rain had eased. I spent the rest of my night / early morning dancing with my favourite people and heading back to mine for a giant sleepover.

Surprisingly, I didn't feel too bad on Sunday so after clearing up the beer cans and spilt glitter, I heading out with my housemates for a cheeky cider and a pizza. Monday Fox Corner and I were lucky enough to be taken to The Learn Ranger house for pie, wine and excellent conversation. Foxy and I left so full that we were rubbing our bellies like we were 5 months pregnant on the train home.

Tuesday after work I took some me time, did some yoga, listened to a TED talk about vulnerability and ate a tube on salt and vinegar pringles.

BlinkyBill and I like to occasionally go out for red wine and have chats about film, politics and everything in between, so after spending the day looking out at the rainy weather, on Wednesday we decided to treat ourselves to a girls night. Despite being with o2 for over 10 years, I've only just discovered o2 priory and while guzzling down a couple glasses of pinot noir, I stumbled across a voucher for £5 pizzas as Pizza Express so we headed there (we on a budget).

Thursday my mum and younger brother met me after work for Mexican food and beers, which was so delicious I had to unbutton my jeans so I didn't explode! They don't live too far away so about once a month they come down for dinner and it's always lovely to catch up.

Read this back I realized that most of what I've done this week has been largely food and alcohol focused... best be hitting the treadmill first thing tomorrow morning!
