My friend is doing the same course as me at uni and they didn't do that great this year so I know next year they really need to up their game however by the sound so of things they seem to be changing and I'm not sure whether they are actually gonna improve their work ethic come next year. I was speaking to them recently and they said how they're gonna go to pres with different people next year so they can listen more to his sort of music and also do drugs and then also he now has a girlfriend so I feel like a lot of his time would be spent with her also.

I guess it's none of my business really but I feel like he's just gonna kinda give up with work related things and just end up doing a lot of partying and drugs ect and will kinda gloss over the fact that second year counts and that he really needs to get a 2:1

People change, that's life. How you react to changes in people is really down to you. You can either choose to accept their new lifestyle or choose to reject it and find new friends to hang out with.

People change. You have to live with it. If you don't like them then leave them and make new friends. Life moves on. Make sure you move on with it.

I don't want to sound arrogant or say you should not care for your friends. However at the end of university when you receive your grades it's gonna be your grades that will make a difference to your own life not your friends grades. You seem to be a diligent individual so i suggest you work every minute of everyday in ensuring when you get out of uni you will enter a high paying job . Your friend will soon wake from his fantasy world . So i suggest you set an example which he can follow.

People change as they grow, somewhere along the line after all the change you realise their true colours and then you can decide whether to remain friends with them or not. There a tons of people at university you can get along with, that won't be bad influence on you either. Make some friends who make you happy

It's just I've become very close to them and it is kind of upsetting cause I feel like if they change so much I won't even know them anymore and idk I don't wanna lose a good friend tbh
