A combination of anxiety, lack of money and people flaking on me

Got any recommendations for places to check out? I've intended to go to Portsmouth at some point
You definitely have to go up Spinnaker Tower and walk along the glass floor, you can see everything below, it's rather scary.

Also, you should check out the historic dockyard and all the navy stuff associated with it. Portsmouth is the home of the royal navy. King Henry VII built the first dry dock in the world in Portsmouth in 1495 (a little fun fact for ya), so yeah it is quite an historic city. HMS Victory is another big attraction in that area, the very ship which was captained by Horatio Nelson, you can go stand on the exact bit where he supposedly died in battle..

Another big bit of Portsmouth is Southsea, it's by the sea front so you have some lovely views and if the weather is nice, nothing beats it. Also, in Southsea you should visit the Rose Garden, it's a Japanese garden which commemorates the city's link with another port-town in Japan (Maizuru).

Gunwharf is where the main shopping centre is if you want look around or buy anything.

Just an all round great city, definitely worth a visit, and very underrated by us Brits and tourists imo! :P

P.S. We are the only island city in the UK, which not many people are aware of!

Have you looked at the National Express website? Much cheaper than a train anyway!
