Citing a source multiple times? Basics watch

    • Thread Starter

I'm new to writing academic essays and I have a basic project to work on. It's only a 1000 word essay and we have been given just two sources to work from.

Early in the essay, I do cite each source with their respective dates for the first time. But throughout the text, I need to cite them over and over as I need to analyse and compare them.

I do mention them by name as I paraphrase each point, but it seems silly to constantly repeat the dates as if it were a new source. Do I need to do this? Do I need to add page numbers in the essay to highlight where I am paraphrasing from?
