I have just registered for a part time science honours degree with OU, starting in Oct 17. From Oct 2003 to July 2005 I was studying a DipHe in Nursing where tuition fees and the bursary were NHS funded. I was unable to carry on into the third year for personal reasons so have no qualification from the course.

Will this previous study affect the finance available for the OU course? Every article I read about part time course finance and previous study seems to say something different!

As long as you're aiming for a BSc (and so a higher qualification that a DipHE pr whatever you were awarded for passing the first 2 years) then you should be fine for part time study.

Thank you for the reply PQ. That is reassuring.

To clarify: it is a BSc I will be studying from October and as I did not complete the 3 years of the DipHE I was not awarded any qualification at all.

    Hi JudeF,

As you do not hold a qualification you will still be eligible for funding and can apply for part-time course on-line.

    Thanks Catherine
