Where are the best beaches to visit in the UK?

I think blue may be a bit much to expect. Grey is more typical given our weather...

Most of the south coast is fairly reasonable though - Dorset and Hampshire have a number of very nice pebble beaches (and a sandy beach at Weymouth), and Devon and Cornwall have some nice sandy ones as noted. I don't know the names of any of them because...I don't remember :tongue:

The rivers can be quite nice to look at too, although I wouldn't go into e.g. the Cam, Thames, or Solent if you paid me...that's like an infection waiting to happen.
