Hey, I've been wanting to be a paramedic for ages but recently I've found myself doubting my confidence and whether I have what it takes and subsequently losing interest, also because I feel there's been a rise in certain abuse, for example the paramedic who had liquid chucked in their face, that scared me a bit but I'm also thinking about how the ambulance service is going, of course not because of the actual paramedic. I'm struggling on whether I have what it takes to to do this job. I also have a love for history and have always liked the idea of doing history at university I've been told different things such as history can get boring at university and it doesn't have good job prospects but I'm still not sure. Has anyone got any advice on how I can choose or what I can do? Thanks

Not really relevant to the medicine forum... But both subjects would require a strong interest. Being a paramedic is full on, maybe see if you can spend some time with St Johns or other ambulance service for experience and insight from existing staff.

History is a very specialised subject, especially after undergrad, which if you're serious about history is something you will be doing. So id expect you to be very passionate about a specific area of history and be prepared to spend a lot of time studying this area in depth.

    Hope this helps!
